We are looking for a Software Engineer to be the lead developer of the RedisRaft OSS project (https://github.com/RedisLabs/redisraft), as part of the Redis Core Platforms group.

The new RedisRaft project aims to add strong consistency to the Redis clustering solution via the Raft protocol. As the lead developer of this project, you will be responsible for implementing its core features.

Our ideal candidate is a strong individual who loves to work in a team as well as independently. You are passionate about technology in general and specifically about the challenges around OSS and distributed computing. You are a quick learner, always eager to learn and improve and love tackling hard problems.

If you’re all that, fun to work with, and want to make an impact while contributing to a wildly successful unicorn, then this is the right challenge for you.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop major features of the RedisRaft project and help make it a mature and robust product.
  • Own and lead features end-to-end, from design through development and deployment.
  • Lead the communication around the project with the OSS world.
  • Work closely with Redis architects and product managers to define and design the project.

What will you need to have?

  • At least five years of development experience working on a production grade system.
  • At least three years of hands-on C/C++ development experience, preferably on Linux.
  • Experience working on networking applications, mainly implementing server apps.
  • Self-directed, ambitious, and eager to learn new things. Passionate about technology and always learning about new tech.

Extra great if you have:

  • Experience developing distributed systems.
  • Experience developing for popular OSS projects.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (especially Redis).
  • Experience developing async IO networking applications.
  • Familiarity with distributed consensus algorithms and formal consistency models.

We give back to our employees:

Our culture is what makes Redis a fun and rewarding place to work. To support you at work and beyond, we offer all our Israel team members fantastic benefits and perks:

  • Competitive salaries and equity grants
  • Flexible working options
  • Frequent team celebrations and recreation events
  • Lunch stipends
