Redis Labs Offers Free Trial of Redis Cloud Private

Redis Enterprise Flash, now available with Redis Cloud Private, caters to large datasets, providing the cost-effective high performance critical to next generation applications

Mountain View, December 6, 2017—Redis, the home of Redis and provider of Redis Enterprise, today announced a 14 day free trial of Redis Cloud Private, the fully automated Redis Enterprise database-as-a-service, deployed within customers’ Virtual Private Cloud. The free trial includes Redis Enterprise Flash, which allows customers to use Flash memory as a RAM extension to store and process large data sets while still enjoying the sub-millisecond latencies and the data structures of Redis.

Redis Enterprise Flash is ground-breaking technology that can slash up to 80 percent of infrastructure costs, when used for large Redis deployments. It uses a tiered approach to memory, saving keys and hot values in fast memory (RAM) and cold values in SSDs (Flash), enabling extremely high throughput at sub-millisecond latencies. In use cases such as real-time analytics, time-series analysis or IoT, where data sizes can get voluminous, but response times need to be instantaneous, Redis Enterprise Flash provides cost-effective high performance. Redis Cloud Private brings the power of this Redis Enterprise technology to the secure Virtual Private Cloud environments of customers. The trial will allow Redis customers to test Redis Cloud Private for two weeks free of charge, with no obligation.

Inovonics collects large quantities of data from millions of sensors every day,” said Dan Williams, senior systems architect at Inovonics, the industry leader in wireless sensor networks for life safety applications. “Redis Enterprise Flash allows us to store and process large data sets reliably, cost-effectively, and in real-time.”

“With the increasing popularity of Redis use cases, users are looking for ways to preserve their application performance on large datasets while eliminating the costs associated with managing large RAM clusters,” said Yiftach Shoolman, co-founder and CTO of Redis. “Redis Enterprise Flash on your VPC was built from the ground up to solve this problem. For the first time, users can consume Redis as a fully managed service in their private cloud environment and at a fraction of their infrastructure costs.”

According to Forrester, 59 percent of surveyed global data and analytics decision makers say their companies will increase their data management investment in the public cloud by at least 5 percent. The Forrester Wave™: Database-As-A-Service, Q2 2017 states that the Redis’ service “completely frees developers from dealing with nodes, clusters, scaling, data-persistence configuration, and failure recovery, while guaranteeing no data loss” and that enterprise customers like Redis Enterprise’s “ease of use, scale, and high-availability functionality.”

Redis’ customers are featured Fortune 500 companies, including six of the top 10 and 32 percent of Fortune 50 companies overall. Over 8,000 enterprises have now deployed Redis Enterprise in public clouds, in their virtual private clouds, or on-premises. Representative Redis Enterprise customers include Dell, General Mills, Home Depot, and DreamWorks. Enterprise use cases range from Internet of Things (IoT) and communications to retail, social, and gaming.
