Redis has achieved AWS Data and Analytics Competency Status. But what does that mean? And more important, here’s what that means to you.

In today’s hyper-digital age, the fusion of data and analytics is paramount for driving business innovation and staying competitive. Amazon Web Services (AWS), with its wide array of cloud solutions, has always been a trailblazer in recognizing and celebrating top industry players that bring exceptional expertise to this crucial domain. 

Today, we’re thrilled to announce a significant milestone: Redis has achieved AWS Data and Analytics Competency status. This not only underlines our technical expertise but also reinforces our unwavering commitment to providing top-tier solutions for diverse data needs. 

So, what is the AWS Data and Analytics Competency?

AWS introduced the Data and Analytics Competency to spotlight and endorse Amazon Partner Network (APN) partners that demonstrate deep AWS technical expertise and proven customer success in helping organizations craft next generation real-time applications that perform at scale and help organizations make data-driven decisions. This competency distinguishes those businesses that excel in using AWS services to design, and scale complex data applications and infrastructures, using AWS best practices.

AWS measures ISV partners such as Redis against a high bar to achieve an AWS Specialization, making it easier for customers to find partners with the right expertise and experience to grow their business. Following are the different phases of evaluation that AWS had Redis go through to achieve this badge.

  1. Foundational Technical Review (FTR): 

AWS evaluated Redis on the core foundational technical requirements that ensures Redis adopted AWS Well-Architected best practices into the solution. This FTR process also evaluates Redis in systems architecture, operational practices, and AWS resource configurations.

  1. Common Technical Requirements:

In addition, AWS evaluated Redis on technical requirements in operational excellence, performance efficiency, reliability, tenant isolation, and security, as well as IT operations, operating system and application, and access management. AWS also reviews typical reference architecture for customer deployments, customer-facing documentation standards, and customer support best practices. 

  1. Data and Analytics-Specific Requirements:

Finally, AWS evaluated Redis on  data security, data governance, scalability and performance best practices.

  • iFood is one of the largest food delivery companies in Latin America, with its online food ordering and delivery services used throughout Brazil and Colombia. iFood’s Redis-based infrastructure delivers sub-millisecond performance for machine learning operations, powering a microservice-based architecture that optimizes user experience, allows for massive scalability, and enables rapid corporate growth. 
  • MyTeam11 operates fantasy sports sites, ensuring that each user gets benefits and rewards at the end of any contest. With more than 15 million users, and set to double its current level of 25,000 operations per second, the team needed a stable and fast database. Redis Cloud running on AWS infrastructure handles MyTeam11’s data for its users, maintains real-time leaderboards, and provides authentication and session management. 
  • HackerRank produces pre-screening, technical assessments, and remote interview solutions for hiring developers. Adopting Redis Cloud gave the HackerRank team the tools it needed to scale as its platform grew. The DevOps team now focuses on developing features to help HackerRank stand out from its competition instead of maintenance and configuration.
